From Frontend to Full-Scale: An Entrepreneurial Journey

Back in 2006, I was a frontend developer.

Frontend was simpler then, but every era has its challenges.

I soon realized I wasn’t made for just working for someone.

I collaborated with Prashant and Rohit and started SparxIT.

We began on freelance marketplaces but found it too competitive.

We pivoted, built an SEO team led by Vivek, and inbound leads skyrocketed.

Despite not being ready for the influx, we struggled with delivery.

We revamped the tech team, and hiring Alok was a milestone.

Our deliveries smoothed out, and we launched No-refresh, a design-your-own-apparel tool, in 2010-2011.

This was a hit in the US market.

With Web 2.0, we pivoted again, excelling in frontend development through CSSChopper.

From 2012, mobile apps took over, and we ventured into app development.

By 2016, Prashant set up an office in Boston, changing our business landscape.

COVID-19 hit us hard, but we retained our team and adapted with proprietary tools like Rosfer.

Post-COVID, the industry transformed, and GenAI shifted our approach.

Key takeaways for successful pivoting:

1. Keep a close eye on market trends and internal performance.

2. Build specialized teams to tackle new opportunities.

3. Stay flexible to new technologies and unexpected crises.

4. Strategic hires can be game-changers.

5. Launch unique solutions to stand out in competitive markets.

6. Ensure your team stays aligned and motivated.

—

Pivoting is crucial to stay in the game.

There is no single way to succeed; you must adapt faster than trends.
